Everybody’s Lying Except you, Huh?!
At some point, you have to laugh.
Because dang…
everybody’s lying?
Your kids?
Your ex-husbands?
Your own siblings?
Everybody did something to you?
But you.. you’re perfect?!
Come on now.
And listen, people lie.
People will lie on your name
and go eat dinner
like nothing happened.
So, I’m not saying people
haven’t done shit to you.
But everything?
Everything has to be about you.
Somebody gets married,
you talk about their marriage.
Somebody stop talking to you,
you need to figure out
who turned them against you.
Nobody turned them against you.
Maybe they got tired of your shenanigans.
People are entitled to fallback.
But when they do…
Oh, they changed.
Okay.
Maybe they did.
Maybe dealing with your ass changed them.
Maybe your energy isn’t
aligned with theirs anymore.
Why do you need an explanation for
someone not wanting to deal with you?
Especially, when deep down,
you already know what happened.
But sometimes it isn’t really
about getting an explanation.
You want to know how much they know.
And most importantly,
how much they might say.
That’s a difference.
Because accountability would require
looking at your own behavior,
and some people would rather go through
an entire family tree before doing that.
It’s the husbands fault.
The wife.
The ex.
The kids.
The sibling.
Anybody but the person telling the story.
And when something serious happens,
somehow that becomes
somebody else’s fault too.
Even the passing of a loved one.
Now you’re reaching.
Especially when there’s a whole history
of how that person was treated while they
were alive that nobody seems to be
interested in discussing.
Interesting how death can make some
people forget their own behavior.
But remember everybody else’s.
I’ll leave that alone.
Don’t hand somebody else
the blame.
When one person has always been expected
to carry the mess, eventually everything
gets thrown in their direction.
Something went wrong…
Their fault.
Somebody stopped speaking?
Their fault.
A relationship changed?
Their fault.
After a while, you’d think one person
was running everybody’s life from
a control room somewhere.
Meanwhile, people are grown and
making their own decisions.
Now you have to pull
other people in the mix.
This one’s gay.
This one’s a prostitute.
This one’s a bad mother.
This one’s a bad father.
Here comes the character sabotage.
But where was all of this energy
when these same people were around you?
Where were all these terrible character flaws
when you were benefiting from the relationship?
You didn’t have much to say then.
But once the relationship ends,
suddenly you’ve got a complete
character analysis.
Oh.
So now they’re a terrible person.
Interesting timing.
Good people don’t need to
entertain sick behaviors.
But as far as wicked people…
they will keep spreading rumors
and worrying about what’s happening
in everybody else’s home.
The real concern is…
They need to pay attention
to what’s happening in their own home.
Because somehow that’s usually
the one house we’re not allowed to discuss.
Funny how privacy becomes important
when the conversation gets too close to home.
But everybody else’s business?
You’re all in it.
It’s crazy how some people around you
don’t call you out on your shit.
But again they do!
Behind closed doors.
They know you have a problem.
You know you have a problem.
Your behavior is disturbing.
And for those that are sitting around
entertaining it isn’t helping you.
Sometimes the very people agreeing
with you are the ones
keeping you stuck in it.
They’ll listen.
They’ll encourage it.
They’ll Ask questions.
Not necessarily because they care
And believe me, they don’t care about you.
Your mess is simply more interesting
than dealing with their own.
Somebody needs to say,
Enough is enough.
Enough worrying about people
who aren’t even dealing with you.
Go tend to yourself.
Because when your dislike for another person
starts taking up that much room in your life,
something is wrong.
And if you have to tear down everybody
who walks away from you just to
protect the version of yourself you
want people to believe…
Eventually, people are going to
notice the real you.
You can’t always control the story.
You can’t control what people will see.
And that right there is what scares you.
This is your safe space.
You’re always welcome here
