No Longer Available
One thing my spirit has taught me…
not everybody who comes across as
humble is humble.
Not everyone who says,
“I’m grateful,” is grateful.
Sometimes that’s just the mask.
Read that again.
For a while, everything feels normal.
They’re smiling.
They’re vibing with you.
At least that’s what it looks like.
Then something shifts…
You start creating a little distance.
You stop making yourself available.
No explanation.
You simply move differently.
Why? Because something clicked.
Things started to make sense.
You start replaying conversations.
You remember the comments.
The ignorance.
The moment your spirit told you something
wasn’t right, you started paying attention
without an announcement.
Listen carefully to what they say.
Not because you’re looking for a fight.
Because this is usually when the mask comes off.
The entitlement comes out.
The resentment comes out.
The real feelings they’ve been hiding
finally find their way into their words.
There’s no performance anymore.
No pretending.
They show you who they really are.
There’s no going back.
Not because you’re angry.
Because you realize this behavior isn’t new at all.
You’ve met it before.
It just showed up in a different person.
That’s why I don’t argue.
I don’t try to convince myself
my spirit got it wrong.
I don’t talk myself out of what was revealed.
Once I see a pattern, I accept it for what it is.
Because some people don’t hide
who they are forever.
They only hide it long enough to
serve their own agenda.
Please leave me alone.
Don’t come over here
trying to disturb my peace.
Exit from out my life
and let me move on without you.
No scene.
I don’t want an apology.
Just for you to leave me alone.
I’ve learned you can’t grow surrounded
by people who are committed to staying the same.
you can’t build with people who
thrive off confusion.
And most importantly, you can’t become a
healthier version of yourself
while making excuses
for unhealthy behavior.
Let people be exactly who they choose to be.
Immature.
Manipulative.
Dishonest.
Entitled.
Deceitful.
Whatever they choose.
That’s their life.
I’m choosing growth.
I’m choosing peace.
I’m choosing to pour into myself.
Pour into my husband.
Pour into my children.
To the people who really matter.
Remember, everybody has a choice.
And this is mine.
This is your safe place.
You’re always welcomed here.
