Hi,

I’m Abi Brooklyn,

Hi, I’m Abi Brooklyn,

I’m an indie author, wife, mother, and proud introvert from Brooklyn, New York.

Long before I published my first book, I was writing. As a child, I filled notebooks with poems, stories, and thoughts that I wasn’t always ready to say out loud. Writing became my peace. It became the place where I could be myself, even when life felt too heavy to explain.

When I decided to publish Unseen Scars, I kept it to myself.

Not because I wasn’t proud of it.

But because I understood that not everyone deserves access to every dream while it’s still growing.

I let the work speak for itself.

Eventually, people found out through word of mouth. And the people who never supported me had the most negative things to say.

That experienced reminded me that you cannot control how people respond to your success, your creativity, or your courage. You can only decide whether you’ll keep showing up for the dream that was placed in your heart.

So if you’re an aspiring indie author who’s afraid to write because of what people might say, I hope you don’t let fear win.

Not everyone will understand your story. Not everyone will understand your purpose. And that’s okay.

The people who are meant to connect with your work will.

That’s who you write for.

Today, I write for the readers who have ever felt unseen, carried more than they should have, or found themselves trying to build a life that looks different from the one they came from.

If that’s you, welcome.

I’m glad you’re here.
